Concert at the Parish of St. Benedict

The parish of St. Benedict celebrated its fiesta on July 11, 2010. To commemorate the feast of St. Benedict, the parish held novena prayers and a mass wedding. The Sacrament of Confirmation was also received by several parishioners, with Rev. Fr. Gerry Tapiador, Vicar General for Administration of the Diocese of Novaliches, who was the representative of Most Rev. Bishop Antonio R. Tobias, D.D., for the special occasion.
“Follow Where the Angels Are”, the first concert to be held at the Parish of St. Benedict, was also held on Sunday July 11, featuring one of the resident choirs of the parish, the Angelus Choir headed by Ms. Julie Ann Adlawan and conducted by Joel Mejos, with special numbers from the Knights of the Altar; the head of the Music Ministry, Mr. Raymond Ancog; Bro. Al Zamayla, mgl; Fr. Brian Steele of the Missionaries of God’s Love (mgl); Sr. Marie Gladys of the Capuchin Sisters, Fr Daniel Strickland, mgl; the Children’s Choir, and the parish priest, Fr Steven Tynan, mgl.
Special guests included the Children’s Joy Foundation, a ministry that provides temporary care for the children and youth who are in need of special protection, and tries to answer their needs especially through health care, supplemental feeding, and temporary dwelling. The CJF performers wowed the audience with their bandurya and violin number. The Banal na Puso Choir, on the other hand, performed an evangelistic skit that focused on Salvation. The BNP Choir members are very active in Youth Alive, the Youth Ministry of the Missionaries of God’s Love. Finally, the Youth of Jesus Of Nazareth Parish performed a beautiful and touching hand mime featuring the song “I See You Lord.”
The hosts for the evening were Atty. Ella C.H. del Rosario of the Lectors/ Commentators Ministry and Adam Domingo of the Youth Alive Ministry.
