END OF THE YEAR MESSAGE FROM FR. BRIAN, THE DIRECTOR OF YOUTH ALIVE
Dear Friends,
Well, we are almost at the end of yet another year. As I reflect over 2010, I am filled with gratitude to the Lord for all He has done with us at Youth Alive. As always, we had a successful Youth Alive Summer Program (YASP).The YASP is the climax of our Youth Alive! YASP offers many times of faith, fun, and fellowship. This is achieved through topical seminars, bonding, sharing, and of course the snacks kindly sponsored by our dearly beloved benefactors. The teachings are Spirit-inspired and thought provoking. The faith is developed and made stronger through our times of sharing and bonding. Activities were fun and meaningful.
It was encouraging to read reports after the YASP to see where we need to develop to make it better for the New Year 2011. It’s usually quite tiring for the team but most participants want YASP to continue every day. Sorry guys, once a year is enough…
YASP 2011 will be held during May since Easter begins later and YASP is a post-Easter event. I had a planning meeting recently and came away quite excited as we look at our events next year. We are planning to launch a Youth Alive Café in February 2011. This will be held Saturday 7-9.30pm at Parish of Benedict- will keep you informed. This promises to be an exciting outreach of Youth Alive! whereby we can simply come together, sip some coffee, listen to great music and hang out with great Christian friends. We hope to hold this quarterly over the year. We will keep you informed. Check website for details
I am asking for your prayers. We will farewell an active Youth Alive member as he goes to seminary next year. Adam Domingo, most will know, has contributed to the Youth Alive in so many ways. He has spoken at YASP, YA gatherings, created our website. Adam was one of the first members from the beginning at Banal na Puso ni Hesus Chapel in Batasan Hills. This is exciting news for YA, as it will be our first active member going to seminary. God bless you Adam and all the best for this journey. Let us pray for Adam.
Take some time to look at our new website; I encourage all to be involved in reading and looking at what YA has to offer. It is the best we can do to keep in contact with everyone and inform you what is happening in Youth Alive!
As we end a year of blessings at Youth Alive, join with me in giving thanks to the Lord who is faithful and loving. Let us sail on in the New Year with courage and serve the Lord all our lives. See you next year!
Director, Youth Alive!
